Accenture is teaming with Ohio’s Miami University on a strategic sourcing initiative to help the latter reduce its total cost of goods and services. With this five month engagement, Accenture is working with Miami University’s procurement and information technology departments, among other major departments.
Dan London, who leads Accenture’s Health & Public Service in North America stated in a press release, “Our experience in operations-related management consulting has demonstrated that this is the type of pro-efficiency effort that many educational institutions should be undertaking to help minimize tuition increases and/or cuts in academic programs and services.”
 
Fitch affirmed a stable outlook for the India information technology (IT) services sector in 2012 based on strong liquidity position, although it hinted moderate revenue growth of the segment.
The ratings agency predicts M&A activity is likely to continue in 2012, with Indian IT services companies focusing on acquiring targets in specific industry verticals and geographies. The total Indian IT industry is worth over USD 70 billion.
 
UK’s St. Helens and Knowsley teaching hospitals have signed a GBP1.3 million agreement with EMC Symmetrix to revamp its storage infrastructure. The upgrade will take 14,000 users onto the cloud, boosting access to X-Rays, medical records and clinical scans and other patient data.

Teleperformance, UK’s leading outsourced customer services player has announced a strategic partnership with Vodafone. Around 200 of Vodafone’s specialist operations roles across three locations will be transferred to  Teleperformance under this partnership.
