L&T Infotech wins outsourcing contracts from Indian Railways
L&T Infotech won outsourcing contracts to help automate the freight and locomotive management systems for Indian Railways. L&T Infotech won these two turnkey ERP projects for computerizing the maintenance of rolling assets at Delhi and Lucknow. The nodal agency coordinating these projects is The Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).

RBS negotiating with outsourcing company to create 160 jobs in Glasgow
The insurance arm of Royal Bank of Scotland is undergoing discussions with an outsourcing company, which will lead to the creation of 160 jobs in Glasgow. Two separate sources confirmed that RBS has been negotiating with Vertex.

Global outsourcing industry grows by 20% y/y in Q3/2010:Everest Group
According to a report by the Everest Group, Q3/2010 experienced an 89% increase in the annual contact value (ACV) in IT services and a 50% decline in the ACV of BPO deals compared to Q3/2009. The global outsourcing industry grew 20% y/y in thesame period.

Infosys  to invest AUD 8 million in Australian data center
Infosys opened a new data center in Melbourne, Australia. According to Australian ICT Minister John Lenders, the company has already hired 90 of the 100 employees it was planning to hire. Jacqueline Korhonen, CEO and managing director at Infosys Australia said, "We are investing AUD 8 million in a data center to support the growing client demand for our range of cloud services across HR, procurement and other functions."

Accenture signs extension to application outsourcing deal with RSA
Accenture signed an extension to its application outsourcing, systems integration and management consulting agreement with RSA for an additional three years through 2015. Under the agreement, which was originally signed in 2003, Accenture will continue to provide development, implementation and ongoing maintenance services for RSA UK's IT applications.
