IBM wins outsourcing contract from Jet Airways IBM signed a ten year IT outsourcing contract with Jet Airways. According to IBM, the USD 62 million contract is the first ‘total outsourcing deal’ signed in Indian aviation. IBM will provide technology solutions to transform Jet Airways' business areas like airport operations, direct distribution and frequent flier programs. Jet plans to use IBM's domain expertise of the airline industry. Kelly Services renews outsourcing deal with Nissan Kelly Services signed a three year contract extension with Nissan North America, under which it will supply recruitment process outsourcing and managed service provider services to Nissan. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Capita to use India as offshoring base for its new IT business Capita, which recently diversified from traditional back-office business into IT, plans to hire people in India for IT application development and maintenance work. The company plans to use its IT facilities in India to support technology platforms for life and pensions client. Capita plans to employ around 300-400 people in IT across Pune and Mumbai by 2010 end. WNS announces Manila canter as voice and data services hub In response to increasing demand from its clients, WNS announced that its delivery center in Manila, Philippines will offer contact center services to its banking and financial clients. According to the company, 10% of its workforce will be based in the Philippines over the next few years. TCS wins State Data Centre contract from the government of Karnataka Tata Consultancy Services won a contract to set up and manage the State Data Center (SDC) for the state of Karnataka in India. The new SDC will be established in Vikas Soudha and Karnataka's current SDC will be transformed into a disaster recovery center. Related Items:
