HCL wins $500 million IT outsourcing contract from MSD
HCL Technologies won a five-year IT outsourcing contract from US-based pharmaceutical company, MSD. The size of the deal is estimated to be worth $500 million. As per the contract, HCL will provide remote infrastructure management, software-led IT solutions, engineering, business and knowledge process services. With this contract, HCL will be able to expand its operations in North Carolina.
IBM wins outsourcing contract from Toronto Pearson Airport
IBM won a five-year outsourcing contract from Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA). The size of the deal is estimated to be worth $130 million. IBM will manage ticket kiosks, baggage and passenger check-in and aircraft gates at Toronto Pearson Airport. In another development, IBM acquired Cast Iron Systems, a US-based cloud integration software, appliances and services company.
Capgemini renews €44 million IT outsourcing contract with Maxeda
Capgemini won a two-year extension of an IT outsourcing contract from non-food retailer, Maxeda. The deal is estimated to be worth €44 million and extends till 2015. With the renewal of the contract, around 170 employees will be providing application and infrastructure outsourcing services. Furthermore, Maxeda will be able to reduce its total ownership cost by 10%.
TeamAsia buys Outsource2Philippines
Philippines based marketing communications company, TeamAsia acquired Outsource2Philippines, a company providing advisory services to the business process outsourcing industry.
Accenture wins IT outsourcing contract from Singapore Ministry of Education
Accenture won a three-year IT outsourcing contract from Singapore’s Ministry of Education. As per the contract, Accenture will provide application maintenance and enhancement for the Ministry’s School Cockpit system. Accenture will also provide an enhanced user interface that will improve teacher's productivity and experience.
BASF awards IT outsourcing contract to Mahindra Satyam
Mahindra Satyam, a global consulting and IT services provider won a three-year IT outsourcing deal from BASF IT Services, a 100% subsidiary of the chemical company BASF. Mahindra Satyam will provide managed services including SAP, messaging, groupware and administration.
Intelenet to strengthen its employee base
Intelenet Global Services plans to hire 7,000 employees in India by the end of 2010. Currently, Intelenet has around 32,000 employees across the world. The company also plans to expand its operations in China, the Middle-East and South America.
ACS wins outsourcing contract from California's Medicaid program
Affiliated Computer Services won an IT outsourcing deal from California's Medicaid program. AS per the contract, ACS will provide IT and business services. ACS will manage Medi-Cal information system and Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) as well as provide number of back office operations.
