Accenture wins contract from Telefonica Group and Nordea Accenture won an IT outsourcing contract from Telefonica Group. As per the contract, Accenture will develop and maintain applications related to consumer billing, systems and collections in addition to building an IT delivery centre for the group. In another deal, Accenture won a five year IT outsourcing contract from Nordea, a financial services group based in the Nordic and Baltic Sea region. As per the contract, Accenture will develop and maintain applications that will support the bank’s customer websites. British Telecom plans to close Scottish call centre British Telecom is planning to close the Fort William contact center. As a result of the closure, around 40 of the company’s employees will lose their jobs. BT decided to close the contact center after it carried out a review of its operations with a bid to streamline its activities into a smaller number of centers. MphasiS to buy Fortify Infrastructure Services MphasiS is planning to acquire Fortify Infrastructure Services, a US based provider of offshore based Remote IT Operations and Management (ROM) Services. With this acquisition, MphasiS will focus on Remote Operations Management (ROM) services. The company will also provide outcome based services which go beyond technical SLAs. Wigix plans to buys Mag2U Wigix is planning to buy Mag2U – a Shanghai-based business process outsourcing company. With this acquisition, Wigix will increase DDKU’s, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wigix; internet presence and multi-channel marketing network to acquire, retain and service customers in China. IBM and Broadridge forms strategic alliance Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. and IBM signed a strategic alliance agreement. As per the agreement, IBM will provide data center and information processing services to Broadridge. Additionally, IBM signed a ten-year IT outsourcing contract with Broadridge. Under this contract, IBM will offer infrastructure services such as data center, network support and IT operations. IBM will also manage IT requirements of Broadridge's clients from financial markets. Pimco awards outsourcing contract to SEI Pimco, an investment management firm awarded account outsourcing contract to SEI. SEI is a provider of outsourced asset management, investment operations solutions, and investment processing. As per the contract, SEI will deliver automated business processes, account reconciliation, administration, and reporting. SEI will also provide contact center services. |
