Aditya Birla Minacs acquires Compass BPO Aditya Birla Minacs has acquired the UK-based firm Compass BPO. Compass BPO which has around 600 employees provides finance and accounting (F&A) services and has presence in the UK, US, UAE and India. With this acquisition Aditya Birla Minacs believes to get a firm foothold in the FAO segment and will also help them get into newer sectors like foods & beverages and US government business. The FAO services would be largely delivered out of its centers in Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai. Aditya Birla Minacs has around 13,000 employees - with centers across India, North America, Europe and Philippines. SEI bags BPO contract from AlphaOne Capital SEI will provide middle and back-office services for AlphaOne's portfolio of investment products - that include institutional and hedge fund accounts. SEI will also host and maintain the firm’s order management system. It will provide back-office services such as fund administration, accounting and investor servicing for two of AlphaOne’s hedge funds. SEI will also provide full business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities. Overlegen LPO starts Texas sales office Overlegen LPO, that was started eight months ago, has opened an office in Austin, Texas, USA. The company has hired William Lennon as the new Vice President for Business Development North America. Lennon will assist in selling Overlegen's LPO services to US law firms and corporate legal departments. Overlegen currently has around six main clients and earns 80% of its revenues from the US and 20% from the UK. It has 20 lawyers in Delhi, focusing on areas such as document review, intellectual property and patents review, due diligence and legal research. Northgate buys Convergys HR unit for $100 m HR software and services provider NorthgateArinso has acquired the HR management division of US based Convergys for $100 million. The firm will pay about $85 million initially and another $15 million over the next three years. The acquisition includes the assets, customer portfolio and global delivery network of Convergys’ HR management division. This will bring Convergys's 20 customers including clients like Cadbury, Whirlpool and Shell from India under Northgate's portfolio. This acquisition will take the total value of the NorthgateArinso-Convergys entity to be around $900 million. Accenture bags $23million NBN Co. recruitment contract NBN Co, an Australian company, established by the federal government to build its $43 billion national broadband network, has outsourced its HR recruitment task to Accenture. The deal is valued at $23 million over a five year period. NBN Co wants to triple its headcount from 100 to 300 employees by the middle of the year. Accenture will provide staff administration, records, recruitment administration, and payroll and performance services. Hewitt Associates acquires Senior Educators Ltd. Hewitt Associates has acquired Senior Educators Ltd. a web-based retiree medical insurance exchange that provides assistance to Medicare recipients seeking high-quality, affordable supplemental insurance products. With this acquisition Hewitt plans to expand its services in the retiree health market. Hewitt will invest in sales, marketing and infrastructure to rapidly scale this business. Kelly Government Solutions wins GSA schedule contract Kelly Government Solutions, the government services division of Kelly Services, Inc. was awarded a General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 738x contract to provide US federal agencies with HR professionals and related services. Under this five-year contract, Kelly will provide human resources professionals, including benefits administrators, recruiters, human resources training and development managers, human resources specialists and human resources administrative assistants, to government agencies across the US. |
