Lok Capital invests in RuralShore Lok Capital LLC, a Mauritius-based VC fund, has invested an undisclosed sum in Bangalore-based  RuralShore Business Services Pvt Ltd. The BPO plans to set up 500 centers across the country in six years to offer services for microfinance institutions. By using a rural set-up, RuralShore looks to reduce the cost per transaction. Genpact acquires US-based Symphony Genpact has announced the acquisition of Symphony Marketing Solutions (SMS), a US-based analytics and data management services provider for an undisclosed amount. With this acquisition, Genpact will gain expertise in data integration, modeling and consulting. 1,200 SMS employees spread across centers in India and the US will join Genpact. Currently, Genpact employs more than 37,000 people globally. StarTek expands RP BPO operations in Philippines Denver (USA) headquartered StarTek, Inc., a BPO services company has added a second Philippine facility of around 2,100 seats at the Eton Cyberpod Corinthian business center, Ortigas Avenue in Philippines. This 15,000 square-meter site will increase StarTek’s total capacity to 3,200 seats. It's existing 1,100-seat Makati facility is expected to be at full capacity by the first half of 2010. StarTek will recruit employees for both these sites in the coming months. SFW Capital buys Agdata SFW Capital Partners acquired Agdata, a provider of data and analytics to agricultural and animal health manufacturers from its existing stakeholders, Carousel Capital and its founder Verl Purdy. The company is connected to around 9,500 industry retailers and distributors, representing more than 90% of the U.S. market. AGDATA assists its clients in data collection, reconciliation and market analytics in the U.S. and Canada. Vodafone signs mobile outsourcing contract with Oracle Vodafone will supply Oracle with mobile voice and data services across the European, Middle East and Africa region in a four-year deal involving 16,000 Oracle employees. Oracle will use Vodafone Global Enterprise’s managed services platform that is expected to provide significant savings as well as enhanced efficiencies. Ness Tech. bags $11.2 million outsourcing contract with Israel's Ministry Of Immigrant Absorption Ness Technologies Inc. has won a 5-year (option to extend by additional 5-years), $11.2 million outsourcing contract from Israel's Ministry of Immigrant Absorption. Ness Technologies will operate and maintain the ministry's IT systems 24/7, including applications, infrastructure systems, communications, and workstations along with deployment of network and system management solutions, upgrade the ministry's helpdesk, and improve the service level. BioClinica signs multi-year clinical outsourcing contract with Cephalon BioClinica, Inc., a global provider of clinical trial services signed a three-year, multi-million dollar contract with Cephalon, Inc. for clinical trial technology and support services. As per the contract, US-based data management staff at Cephalon will be absorbed by BioClinica to support clinical efforts of Cephalon. BioClinica will provide services like data management planning, clinical study set-up for electronic data capture (EDC), medical coding, adverse event reconciliation, clinical data management, and training for the clinical sites and investigators. FundQuest To Outsource Back Office To Envestnet Third-party investment-platform provider FundQuest, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas Investment Partners, will outsource majority of its technology and back-office operations to Envestnet Asset Management, Inc. FundQuest believes it can leverage both the capabilities and scale of Envestnet's technology platform while growing their own integrated and customized advisory product solutions.
