HCL bags outsourcing contract from News Corp UK
HCL got a five-year outsourcing contract from media company, News Corp. The deal is estimated to be worth $200-250 m. As per the deal, HCL will provide IT services and manage data centers for UK-based newspapers like The Sun, The Times, and The Sunday Times.
Patni expands actuarial BPO services offerings
Patni expanded its “Actuarial Center of Excellence” (ACE) to include risk management, consulting and actuarial services for financial and insurance services companies in an onshore and off-shore delivery model. The center provides actuarial expertise in the US, Europe and India. ACE offers services such as consulting to loss monitoring, reserving, pricing, profitability analysis, experience analysis and statutory reporting.
Infosys to increase employee strength in the US
Infosys is planning to increase its employee strength in the US by acquiring companies in Germany, France and Japan. Currently, Infosys has around 1,200 employees in the US and plans to hire 1,000 more.
Capgemini wins contract from Renault
Capgemini won a three-year outsourcing contract from French automaker, Renault. As per contract, Capgemini will provide IT application management. More than 180 Capgemini employees will work on this deal and provide functional updates, technical support and update, and applications development.
Mahindra Satyam wins outsourcing contract from Airbus
Mahindra Satyam won a three-year outsourcing contract from the aircraft manufacturer, Airbus. The deal is estimated to be worth $20 m. As per the contract, Mahindra Satyam will offer technology maintenance services to Airbus. Earlier, Mahindra Satyam won a five-year contract worth $300 m from Swedish defense and aerospace firm, Saab. The company will provide tech support for engineering services and maintenance to Saab.
