Xerox acquires ACS Xerox Corp acquired Affiliated Computer Systems (ACS), a US based business process outsourcing company for $6.4 b. With this acquisition, Xerox will increase its revenue to an estimated value of $10 b by next year. TCS bags IT outsourcing contract from the Government of Andhra Pradesh TCS bagged a five year IT outsourcing contract from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. This contract is the fourth state-wide area network (SWAN) project won by TCS. It is already implementing SWAN projects in Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh. This contract is based on build, own, operate and transfer model. As per the contract, TCS will connect state headquarters with 1,088 sub-divisions and 23 district headquarters. Wipro wins IT outsourcing contract Wipro won IT outsourcing contract from Punjab & Sind Bank. As per the deal, Wipro will provide core banking solutions (CBS) to the bank’s customer. In another development, Wipro bagged a three year IT outsourcing contract from a US based water utility company, Aquarion Water Company. Atos Origin wins IT Outsourcing Contract from Lekkerland Atos Origin won a five year outsourcing contract from Lekkerland Information Systems, the IT services provider of the retail distribution company, Lekkerland. The size of the deal is estimated to be $37 m. As per the deal, Atos Origin will provide IT infrastructure and application management and 33 employees of Lekkerland will be transferred for this project. EasiOption opens a new center in Pune EasiOption, a UK based subsidiary of Kent Reliance Building Society, opened a new center in Special Economic Zone, SP Infocity, Pune. The new center will have 500 seats and provide call center services. Spanco BPO opens center in Dehradun Spanco BPO opened a new center in Dehradun. The new center has around 3,000 seats and will employ 7,500 people. |
