HCL bags IT contract from Indian Government
HCL Infosytems bagged an IT contract from the Uttar Pradesh Government. As per the contract, HCL will provide e-job cards to workers under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act project. In another agreement, HCL Technologies signed a strategic alliance with eBaoTech, a China based software solutions provider. As per the agreement, HCL will help eBaoTech market its products in addition to provide integrated services to eBaoTech’s clients.
BASF, Euroclear, Electrolux and Anheuser-Busch InBev to start outsourcing
BASF AG, a chemical company; Euroclear, a European settlement firm; Electrolux, a consumer goods manufacturing company, and Anheuser-Busch InBev, a brewer company; are planning to start outsourcing. BASF plans to offshore application development, e-mail management and other services. Anheuser-Busch, Euroclear and Electrolux plan to outsource their IT and back office services.
Infosys bags IT contract from Telstra; opens new center in Philippines
Infosys Technologies won an IT outsourcing contract from Telstra, an Australian telecom operator. The size of the contract is estimated to be $80 m to $100 m. In another development, Infosys BPO opened its first center in Philippines in partnership with Cisco. The new center will offer Cisco’s collaboration technologies and Cisco unified contact center.
Wipro bags IT deal from BJ’s Wholesale
Wipro Technologies bagged a five year IT outsourcing deal from BJ’s Wholesale Club. As per the deal, Wipro will provide applications management, IT data center services and consultancy services to BJ Wholesale Club.
Datacom bags IT contract from Xstrata
Datacom bagged a two year IT outsourcing contract from the mining company, Xstrata. As per the contract, Xstrata will provide IT service desk support to Xstrata Copper and Zinc end-users in the Northern Territory and North Queensland.
