Volkswagen awards IT contract to TCS
Volkswagen, a Germany based automobile manufacturer, awarded an IT outsourcing contract to TCS. As per the contract, TCS will provide IT applications to Volkswagen AG. Prior to this contract, TCS had won a five year IT contract in this year from Volkswagen (VW) Group UK.
Zurich Insurance extends IT deal with Orange Business Services
Zurich Insurance extended IT deal for three years with Orange Business Services, India based communication solutions provider. The deal is valued at $ 21 m. As per the deal, Orange will provide data communication services, management of 40,000 IP telephones and call center solutions for 11,000 agents, BlackBerry services for 3,000 employees, mobile voice and data services for 5,000 employees.
Infosys bags another IT contract
Infosys won IT contract from the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry. As per the contract, Infosys will design, maintain and develop eBiz platform and build the support IT infrastructure for the next ten years. Infosys will also provide training, workshops, promotion and awareness campaigns. In another deal, Infosys won a pilot outsourcing contract from the Indian Railways worth $ 44 m. As per the deal, Infosys will provide Integrated Coach Management System (ICMS) in Visakhapatnam and Orissa. By the end of 2009, Infosys will provide ICMS at 50 - 60 different centers and coaching depots in India.
WNS signs partnership deal with Trintech Group Plc
Trintech Group Plc, a US based IT software provider, partnered with WNS Holdings. As per the agreement, WNS will provide its technical support, implementation services and customers financial governance applications to Trintech.
Elegon Infotech sold stake to 3i Infotech
3i Infotech bought 49% stake in Elegon Infotech, a 51:49 joint venture between 3i Infotech and Yucheng Technologies in China. With this acquisition, Elegon Infotech will become a wholly owned subsidiary of 3i Infotech.
