American Express awards IT outsourcing contract to EDS American Express awarded an IT outsourcing contract to EDS. As per the contract, EDS will provide voice and data networks and desktop computing environment to American Express. In addition to this, EDS will also offer on-site services for American Express’s employees in 130 countries. Amul awards IT outsourcing contract to IBM India IBM won a 10 year outsourcing contract from Amul, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) and its milk divisions. The deal is valued at over $16 m. As per the deal, IBM will provide IT environment and IT infrastructure support to Amul. IBM will also build a data center supported by a disaster recovery center. Hewitt buys BodeHewitt Hewitt Associates bought BodeHewitt, a Germany based pensions and benefits consulting firm. The new facility will be known as Hewitt's German Retirement and Financial Management (RFM) consulting practice. With the acquisition, BodeHewitt and Hewitt will have 230 associates across Munich, Wiesbaden, and Stuttgart. Integreon looks for acquisitions Integreon plans to buy companies providing business research and legal outsourcing services. The company, which currently has employee strength of 2,000, plans to lessen its focus on increasing the headcount and instead focus more on technology enabled solutions in order to increase the productivity. Infosys eyes inorganic growth Infosys BPO plans to buy small or mid-sized company valued between $40-60 m in Canada or the US. This acquisition is part of the company’s plan to expand business in the mortgage and insurance services. |
