Xchanging to open a new center in India UK based BPO provider, Xchanging is setting up a new center in Shimoga, Karnataka (India). This new 1,000 seat facility will be operational from Q1 2010. The company further plans to set up another center in Cleveland, Ohio (US). These two centers will provide financial processing services. Aegis to buy a BPO company in Africa Aegis BPO plans to buy a BPO company in Africa. This acquisition will help Aegis BPO to expand its operations in South Africa. Aegis BPO plans to acquire a service provider specializing in the customer lifecycle management segment. TCS and Patni open new center in Mexico TCS and Patni Computer Systems opened new delivery center in Queretaro, Mexico. TCS plans to employ 500 employees in its center. Currently, TCS already has two centers in Mexico, located in Guadalajara and Mexico City. This new center will offer IT services, BPO services, consultancy, industrial and engineering services, test factory and product-based solutions. Patni on the other hand, will provide “near shore” engagement model and global delivery system from its center in Mexico. UBS to close BPO and KPO Units UBS, a Switzerland based bank, plans to close down its BPO and KPO centers in Krakow (Poland) and Hyderabad (India). These two centers are estimated to be around $200 m. FirstSource wins outsourcing contract from Idea Cellular Idea Cellular awarded a five year outsourcing deal worth Rs.1450 m to FirstSource. As per the contract, FirstSource will offer customer management interaction services, such as, new product information, billing, and plan detail-related interaction services to the telecom operator from its Coimbatore center. |
