Eureka Forbes awards IT contract to IBM Eureka Forbes, a consumer durables firm, awarded a five year IT outsourcing contract worth $15 m to IBM. As per the contract, IBM will offer package implementation, business consulting, infrastructure and application management to Eureka Forbes. Infosys to open a new center in Brazil Infosys plans to open a new software development and back office center in Brazil. The new facility will be functional within 3 to 4 months. The company intends to hire 100 employees in this center. IPVG bags outsourcing deal from Prudential Vietnam Finance Company IPVG bagged a five year outsourcing contract from Prudential Vietnam Finance Company, the consumer finance business firm. As per the contract, IPVG will provide voice and non-voice services to Prudential Vietnam. Telstra awards IT deal to Infosys, EDS and IBM Telstra, an Australian telecom operator, awarded outsourcing contracts worth $1.2 b to Infosys, EDS and IBM. As part of the deal, EDS and Infosys will provide application maintenance and development and IBM will provide IT infrastructure services. While IBM managed to bag $750 m for the contract, the remaining $450 m will be shared between Infosys and EDS. Essar Group opens new technology subsidiary Aegis BPO opened a new technology subsidiary called Aegis Tech Limited. Aegis Tech will begin its functioning with 500 employees across India, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), North America, Africa, and Australia. The company further intends to hire an additional 1,000 employees in the next 12 to 18 months. SPi sets up new delivery center in India SPi opened a new delivery center in Pondicherry, India. The new center has a total area of 8,000 sq ft and employs 450 publishing professionals. This center will offer editorial and content production services. |
