US Army awards IT contract to CSC The US Army awarded a three year contract worth $226 m to CSC. As per the contract, CSC will offer support services; research, design and development; systems engineering; training and program support for Project Manager, Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (PM DCATS) projects in the United States, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Germany and Korea. Cincinnati Bell extends contract with StarTek StarTek, Inc., a BPO service provider, renewed a five year contract with Cincinnati Bell Inc. As per the contract, StarTek will provide customer support, which includes sales, installation, care, technical support and retention programs; and technical services, which includes IT infrastructure, application services encompassing interactive voice response (IVR), virtual queuing, voice over IP (VoIP) phone service, work force management and quality assurance. Wipro to open new center in China Wipro plans to set up a new development center in Nantong, China. This will be Wipro's third facility in China. Stream Global Services to sets up a new center in Cairo Stream Global Services, a US based BPO service provider, will set up a new center in Cairo, Egypt. The new 700-seat facility will provide contact center outsourcing for North America and Europe, and deliver services in English, French and Arabic languages. Adlabs Films enters into media BPO industry Adlabs Films, a Reliance Company, has started the outsourcing business for the media industry. The BPO will provide services such as restoration, encoding, transcoding, compression authoring, format and standards conversion, duplication and dubs, meta-tagging, repurposing/versioning, QC and broadcast logistics and archiving. eTelecare acquires Phone House Group eTelecare Global Solutions acquired Phone House Group, a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse. With this acquisition, eTelecare has created a presence in the South African call centre industry. The company plans to add 500 employees in a year in South Africa center. |
