Unilever awards HR outsourcing contract to IBM Unilever awarded HR outsourcing contract to IBM. This contract is a five year extension of an existing contract. As per the contract, IBM will provide payroll, benefits administration, employee data management and contact center services for Unilever’s 27,000 employees based in Latin America. Wipro BPO plans to increase its employee strength Wipro BPO plans to increase its headcount in its Hyderabad center by 1,200 within six months. The center presently has around 3,000 employees. The BPO will hire half of the employees from Andhra Pradesh and rest will be hired from the other states. TaurusQuest to expand its operation TaurusQuest, a BPO service provider that offers accounting, legal, and financial publishing services, plans to open its third delivery center in Chennai, India. The new 300-seat facility will be operational by 2010. Headstrong buys iX Partners Headstrong, a financial services consulting firm, acquired iX Partners (iXP), a US-based provider of middle and back office services. With this acquisition, Headstrong will expand its middle and back office investment operations. SpareBank 1 awards IT outsourcing contract to EDB SpareBank 1 awarded a five year IT outsourcing contract worth $9 m to EDB Business Partner, a Nordic IT service provider. As per the contract, EDB will implement its Infobank solution at SpareBank and offer access to information from various public database registers. Scope International to increase its operation Scope International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank, plans to double its employee strength. The company currently has 1,100 employees and provides in-bound and out-bound customer calls and collection related services. |
