Bharti Airtel awards IT outsourcing deal to IBM Bharti awarded IT outsourcing contract worth $50.4 m to IBM. As per the contract, IBM will manage the IT requirements of Bharti Airtel’s telecom infrastructure subsidiary, Bharti Infratel. IBM will provide infrastructure development services to Bharti Infratel. Sun Life Financial extends outsourcing deal with IBM Sun Life Financial extended a seven year IT outsourcing contract worth $242 m with IBM. As per the contract, IBM will provide infrastructure and operation management services to Sun Life Financial. CMEC awards outsourcing contract to TCS UK-based Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission (CMEC) awarded $80 m contract to TCS. As per the contract, TCS will set up and integrate software applications such as Oracle’s Siebel CRM software and TCS’ Bancs software. Zenta opens new center in Philippines Zenta plans to set up a new center in Taguig City, Philippines. The company started its first operation in Manila in June 2008. Zenta intends to employ around 500 people in its new center thus increasing its workforce to 4,300 in the Philippines. Mitsui Sumitomo renews outsourcing contract with IBM Mitsui Sumitomo, a Japanese Insurance company has renewed its outsourcing contract with IBM Japan for additional five year. As per the agreement, IBM will manage the insurer’s IT operations, data processing activities and IBM’s mainframe systems. Microsoft awards IT outsourcing deal to HCL Microsoft awarded a five year outsourcing contract worth $170 m to HCL. As per the contract, HCL will help Microsoft on its online business productivity suite. Around 850 of HCL’s employees will work on this project. |
