Contech expands its operations
Ahmedabad-based BPO provider, Contech BPO Services, plans to expand its operations in the digitized music segment. The company plans to invest in the infrastructure and training of personnel in the highly specialized digitization process. Contech expects to increase its manpower from the existing 100 people to 500 by 2010. According to Rajan Vasa, Managing Director and CEO, the music market size is between $20 b to $30 b per annum.

Global 100 Communications company extends outsourcing contract to TeleTech
A Global 100 communications company has expanded the services in its multi-year agreement with TeleTech Holdings. As per the contract, TeleTech will provide additional technical support, billing support, and general inquiries to the client’s customers.

Harman and Wipro form strategic alliance
Wipro Ltd. and US-based Harman International Industries Inc. signed an agreement to jointly develop products and technologies for automotive, consumer and professional markets. As per the agreement, Wipro will set up a development engineering centre to work on software and hardware engineering solutions for the customers of Harman. Additionally, Wipro will also complement the outsourcing of Harmans IT infrastructure services.

Atos Worldline wins outsourcing contract from Thalys International
The European rail company, Thalys International, extended its CRM contract with Atos Worldline. Atos had developed a multi-channel ticketless customer services system, the Cybelys loyalty program for Thalys in 2003. As per the contract, Atos will continue to operate and provide paperless rail transport ticketing through Cybelys loyalty program to all Thalys rail customers in Europe.

Hyundai Motor America extends CRM contract with Convergys
Hyundai Motor America extends its CRM contract by three years with Convergys. As per the contract, Convergys will provide agents dedicated to offer customer management services to clients of Hyundai. Additionally, it will provide case management, fulfillment, self-service, and other back office operations.
