Amtex to set up a new facility in Chennai
New York based Amtex Systems, an IT consulting and services firm is expanding its BPO facility in Chennai. The company plans to invest Rs 60 m to set up a new facility with 150 seats in Chennai. Amtex provides BPO and inbound sales calls services to media, retail and entertainment sectors. They are a PCI DSS certified BPO company.

KPN signs multi-year outsourcing contract with Logica
Logica has been awarded a $28 m IT service desk support contract from Netherlands based KPN. As per the contract, Logica will handle the questions related to over 700 business applications from KPN staff. Additionally, it will provide related services which include the provision of management reports. The contract includes transfer of 40 employees to Logica.

Ericsson signs IT contract with TCS
The telecommunications company Ericsson has signed a five year contract with TCS to provide application maintenance and development services for its internal IT operations. TCS will implement the Global Network Delivery Model GNDMTM to deliver these services.

Genpact acquires delivery center from GE Money
The subsidiary of General Electric, GE Money has sold its back office operations center in Guatemala City to Genpact. The financial details have not been disclosed. This acquisition will expand Genpact's operations in Mexico and increase its ability to provide services in Spanish to the US clients. Additionally, Genpact will provide back office services to GE Money.

Integreon buys Onsite Solutions
Virginia based Onsite Solutions Inc has been acquired by Ayala Group's Integreon Managed Solutions. Onsite Solutions had decided to file for bankruptcy following which it was to be acquired by Integreon and its pre-bankruptcy debts taken over by LiveIt Solutions, which is a BPO arm of Ayala. The acquisition of Onsite Solutions has been in keeping with Ayala's plan to create a $40 m national e-discovery division with processing centers in the US and offshore review centers in India and the Philippines.

Essar to set up BPOs in J&K
Essar Group and Aegis BPO will invest Rs 10 m to set up two BPO centers in Jammu and Kashmir. The two centers, one each in Jammu and Kashmir, will provide direct and indirect employment to around 2000 people.
