Caretel BPO successfully completes 5th year of Kisan Call Centre
Caretel Infotech Ltd (a part of the Dalmia Group) operates the “Kisan Call Centre” in 22 languages across 25 locations in India. The company offers 16X7 helpline services to the Indian farmers and has completed 5 years of operation. The center handled an aggregate of 3.01 m calls till date.

Infosys BPO employee numbers dip by 386

Infosys Technologies’ subsidiary, Infosys BPO’ employee count dipped 2.27% to 16,941 employees in Q3 FY2009 compared to Q2 FY2009 (17,327). However, the parent company, Infosys Technologies reported an increase in the headcount. According to Mohandas Pai, Director (Human Resources), the company is focusing on training and certifications in order to improve its productivity.

IPVG trims down its BPO operations
IPVG Corp.'s BPO business has merged voice operations of its subsidiary IP Contact Center Outsourcing Inc. (IPPCO) in a move to restructure the business. The 260-seat contact center of IPCCO will be merged with IPVG's BPO Teleservices Inc. The creation of BPO Teleservices is in line with IPVG’s plans to optimize its BPO operations through setting up a holding company in Singapore.

Korean Air outsources tech services to IBM
Korean Air has inked a 10 year tech services contract with IBM. Under the contract, the airline will hand over its data centre operations to IBM. IBM will also offer application lifecycle management services aimed to revise Korean Air's software environment and execute a services-oriented architecture.

TCS reports a net profit of Rs.13.53 b for Q3FY2009
Tata Consultancy Services recorded a net profit of Rs.13.53 b for Q3 FY2009 up 1.6% yoy. Revenues in the October-December period increase to Rs.72.77 b. The Q3 operating margins increased 0.53 bps to 24.76%. This was primarily due to the cost controls and a weak rupee.
