Sanoma extends its IT outsourcing contract with Atos Origin Netherlands-based magazine publisher Sanoma Uitgevers, has extended its IT outsourcing contract with Atos Origin for five years. As per the contract, Atos will manage the entire IT infrastructure which includes security, data centre hosting and the management of multifunctional peripherals of Sanoma. World Bank business bans Satyam for 8 years Satyam Computer Services Ltd has been banned by World Bank for receiving direct contracts from the bank for a period of eight years. The ineligibility arose as the company provided improper benefits to bank staff and did not maintain proper documentation to support bills charged by its subcontractors. ACS acquires Grupo Multivoice ACS acquires Argentina-based Grupo Multivoice, a customer care services provider in South America. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. Grupo Multivoice has employee strength of 6,000 with offices in Cordoba, Chile, Colombia and Peru. With this acquisition, ACS will expand its global footprint in South America. Sara Lee awards global services contract to IBM Sara Lee Corporation signed a seven year contract with IBM to support its back office operations. As per the contract, IBM will provide financial services to the North American and European regions of Sara Lee. IBM will manage the IT infrastructure and indirect procurement activities of the Sara Lee. Patni eyes acquisitions Patni has set aside $40 m cash reserves for acquisitions. The company is eyeing captive offshore centres being sold by multinational companies. Patni offers infrastructure management support, product engineering and BPO services. Related Items:
