Watson acquires Vietnam based SMART HR Watson Wyatt Worldwide has acquired HR consulting services firm, SMART HR based in Vietnam. The financial terms have not been disclosed. The acquisition will help Watson to strengthen its position in the ASEAN and Asia Pacific market. Centica renews outsourcing contract with WNS Centrica has renewed the customer and billing support services contract with WNS for another 3-years. The contract has an option for additional 2 year extension on completion of its initial 3-year tenure. As per the contract, WNS will provide offshore customer services, billing support, finance and accounting services to Centrica's subsidiaries - British Gas in the U.K. and Direct Energy in U.S. and Canada. CSC buys Log.Sec Corp CSC has acquired IT and logistics engineering firm, Log Sec based in Manassas, Va. Log.Sec will be a part of CSC's Defense Division, and will help the company to further expand its revenues by expanding logistics related services to defense sector. English Heritage awards IT outsourcing contract to Atos Origin English Heritage renews a 2-year IT outsourcing contract to Atos Origin. The contract worth £ 7 m will provide IT support to over 120 of its Heritage sites and other offices across United Kingdom. As per the contract, Atos will provide desktop, data centre, network, customer support centre, disaster recovery and application support services. In addition it will provide training, maintenance and service management to English Heritage. Wipro buys Citos for $127 m Wipro Technologies has acquired the IT arm of Citigroup in India for $127 m. Citigroup, after the acquisition, will be obliged to outsource all the infrastructure management contracts to Wipro. The contract is signed for a duration of 6-years to provide application development, maintenance and infrastructure services valued at $500 m. MphasiS plans to close Noida center MphasiS has informed all employees at its Noida center to either quit or relocate to centres in Indore and Vadodara. The Noida center of the company has around 1500 employees in the BPO operations catering to industries in financial, healthcare, communications, consumer, retail and transportation. Related Items:
