Serco acquires InfoVision for $75 m
The UK based Serco Group has acquired Gurgaon-based BPO InfoVision for $75 m. With this acquisition, Serco Group will make its footprint in India as well as offer services in the BPO vertical.

Xcel Energy signs a multi-year application outsourcing agreement with Accenture
Xcel Energy has signed a multi-year contract with Accenture to provide application management services. As per the contract, the company will offer application maintenance and software development for Xcel Energy’s customer care, human resources/payroll applications and meter systems.

Deutsche Bank to expand its Philippines operations
Deutsche Bank plans to significantly increase offshoring (to 80% from the existing 30%). It plans to offshore primarily to its Philippine-based center, Deutsche Knowledge Services Pte. Ltd (DSK). Currently DKS employs 1,600 people and plans to increase to 2,500 by next year.

Fluor awards a $130 m IT outsourcing contract to IBM

Fluor has extended its IT outsourcing contract to IBM. The three-year contract is valued at $130 m. As per the contract, the company will provide help desk, data center and server services, network management, desk side support, SAP hosting, IT security and disaster recovery services. In addition, IBM centers in Canada, the United States, India and Poland will provide primary support services to Fluor’s 74 locations around the world.

Rabo Vastgoed Group awards ITO contract to Atos Origin
Rabo Vastgoed Group, an international real estate organization, has awarded a five year IT outsourcing contract to Atos Origin. As per the contract, the company will be responsible for the IT service desk, office IT and computer centre services of Rabo Vastgoed Group. In addition, it will manage the company’s IT infrastructure in the Netherlands.

The Railway IT contract likely to be won by Satyam

Satyam Computer Services is likely to win the IT outsourcing contract from the Indian Railways. The other competitors who had bid for the contract were TCS and Wipro. As per the deal, the company will provide asset management solution based on SAP business software for four locomotive sheds.
