Ebix to acquire ConfirmNet Corporation
San Diego based ConfirmNet Corporation is being acquired by Ebix Inc to strengthen its position in the COI issuance industry in the United States. ConfirmNet provides software on an SAAS (software-as-a service) basis for issuing and tracking certificates of insurance (COI). Ebix's BPO division, EBIXBPO has the largest market share in the certificate tracking industry, in the United States. With this acquisition, it will become one of the larger and leading BPO providers in the insurance industry.  

Bharti Airtel extends its contract with Nortel

Bharti Airtel has awarded a two-year contract to Nortel to provide its contact centre technology (CCT) solution. As per the contract, the company will install the CCT solution for Bharti Airtel which features interactive voice and video response capabilities and provides a 24x7 virtual storefront.

Thomson Local awards RPO contract to Ochre House
Thomson Local has awarded a 2-year RPO contract to Ochre House. As per the contract, the company will be responsible for recruiting approximately 300 people per year, mainly for the direct sales function of Thomson.
   
Mindteck to consolidate and offshore 70% of its work to India  
Bangalore-based Mindteck has consolidated its recent acquisitions namely Primetech Solutions, Infotech Consulting, Mindteck UK and Mindteck Singapore to form Mindteck Inc. With this consolidation, it has begun moving a lot of back office work to India from its centres in the US, Europe, Singapore and West. The company has also changed its sales model by offshoring 70% of the work to India which it delivered in the US.  
   
ValueLabs to set up a new facility in Hyderabad
ValueLabs plans to open its second centre in Hyderabad with an investment of Rs 1500 m. This 500,000-sft facility will accommodate 750 employees upon completion in the next two years. And after 4 years when it becomes fully operational, it can house 5,000 employees. Currently it has two centres, Hyderabad (with 1,420 employees) and the other in Kuala Lumpur (with 40 employees).
   
eTelecare has been awarded CRM outsourcing contract
eTelecare Global Solutions Inc. signed a contract to provide inbound sales services to one of the world's largest software providers. As per the contract, the company will provide voice and non voice sales and back office capabilities and may expand to include technical support services.
