Satyam to sign 10 UK outsourcing deals Satyam expects to bag outsourcing contracts worth £1 b. The company is exploring newer verticals such as the retail, manufacturing and telecom. Currently, Satyam has about 10 contracts valued at £20 m and £100 m. Godrej awards a 10-year IT outsourcing contract to HP Godrej Industries and Godrej Consumer Products have awarded a 10-year IT outsourcing contract to Hewlett Packard. As per the contract, the company will provide application development and maintenance, infrastructure management and transformational services. In addition, HP will take over the IT staff working with Godrej. Orange to consolidate offshore work Orange UK that had signed outsourcing deals with Convergys, IBM Daksh, EXL and 24/7 Customer plans to consolidate the work and distribute it between two vendors, Convergys and IBM Daksh. As per the deal, the companies will provide customer service support for Orange UK's mobile and broadband customers. OPI sets up Finance & Accounting service unit in Malaysia Outsource Partners International Inc. has set up a new F&A outsourcing service unit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This centre will provide FAO services in more than 16 languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay. They will serve clients globally which include North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Eclipse Aviation awards $106 m IT outsourcing contract to CSC Light jet manufacturer Eclipse Aviation has awarded an 8-year IT outsourcing contract valued at $106 m to CSC. The contract has a five-year base period with three yearly options. As per the contract, the company will manage the entire IT development, maintenance and infrastructure of Eclipse global operations. |
