Tech Mahindra acquires 17% stake in Servista for $1.8 m Tech Mahindra has bought 17% stake in UK based Servista, a provider of IT services for $1.8 m. As per the contract, if certain milestones are achieved by Servista over 4 years, Tech Mahindra may increase its stake to 30%. With this acquisition, Tech Mahindra will secure offshoring business, expand its geographical presence and develop business capability in Europe. Gerdau Ameristeel awards 1-year RPO contract to Spherion The North American Gerdau Ameristeel has awarded a one year contract to Spherion for providing RPO services at all its locations in the US. The contract includes providing cost efficient recruitment procedures and hiring qualified personnel. Spherion will support hiring of 400 employees for both exempt and non-exempt positions Australia's National Receivables Group (NRG) opens call centre in the Philippines Australia based National Receivables Group (NRG) a provider of financial services, plans to offshore its operations. After market research they selected Philippines over India as they found that living standards and talent in Philippines fared better than India. Satyam cutting dependence on the US and UK markets Satyam is expanding its services to the Australian and Middle Eastern regions. Due to the economic downturn in the US it plans to make its presence felt in the emerging markets. There are about 12 contracts in the range of $8 m-$50 m which it plans to pursue in India, Middle East and Africa and hopes to win at least four contracts. Serco group plans to acquire InfoVision for Rs 2500 m UK-based Serco Group is in discussions to acquire InfoVision, which offers KPO, HR, customer relationship management and finance and accounting services. The deal is expected to lie in the range of Rs 2000 m- Rs 2500 m. With this acquisition, Serco plans to build a stronger position in the domestic market in India. Progressive Enterprises awards 5-year outsourcing contract to Gen-i Australian based Progressive Enterprises has awarded a multi million 5-year contract to Gen-I to upgrade its ICT infrastructure. As per the contract, Gen-i will shift 150 New Zealand stores of Progressive to a "managed services environment".
