HTMT Global Solutions plans to expand HTMT Global Solutions plans to invest INR 250 m towards expansion of its Durgapur operations. The Durgapur facility currently has 1500 employees, which will be increased to 2500 by 2009. The company has also set aside $110 million to acquire US and UK based firms. Innodata signs agreement with Project Muse Innodata Isogen, a provider of publishing outsourcing services has entered an agreement with Project MUSE, a collaboration between the John Hopkins University Press and the Milton S. Eisenhower Library. The contract involves XML conversion of online scholarly journals in humanities and social sciences discipline. In the first year, the contract is estimated to be worth approximately $600,000. Affinity Express begins operations in Philippines Affinity Express Inc., funded by Ayala Corporation began operations in Manila, Philippines with a staff of 200 employees. The company provides graphic design services to the publishing and newspaper industry. This facility in the Philippines will also act as a backup for the US and India operations of the Company. Genpact to expand further Genpact is eyeing acquisitions of BPO and IT companies in India and the US. Genpact is also planning to increase its offshore operations in Guatemala, to provide financial transaction processing services to its US clients. Further, it plans to increase its employee strength by approximately 22 percent during the year. A new association, OSPAI established Outsourcing companies which are heavily dependent on the telecom infrastructure including call centers, tele-banking service providers etc. have formed an association called Other Service Providers Association of India (OSPAI). This association will propose and assist in policy changes by working with ministries of finance, labor, law and various associations and industry representatives. Genpact, HCL, Accenture, Citigroup Global Services are some of the members of OSPAI. |
