Aegis BPO acquires PeopleSupport Inc. for $250 m
Aegis BPO, part of the Essar group bought PeopleSupport Inc., a Philippines based BPO for $250 m. The deal will be completed by the third or fourth quarter. Post acquisition, Aegis will have strength of 25,000 across India, the Philippines, and Costa Rica.
  
Capgemini acquires Getronics PinkRoccade Business Application Services BV for $255 m
Capgemini entered an agreement with Getronics PinkRoccade Business Application Services BV (BAS BV) based in The Netherlands for a $255 m cash deal. BAS BV has 2,200 employees with a turnover of $300 m and has 40% of its revenue coming from the Dutch public sector IT services market. With the acquisition, Capgemini will reinforce its position in one of its key markets.
   
Spencer's Retail signs contract with Wipro Infotech for its IT outsourcing 
Wipro Infotech has signed a five year IT outsourcing contract with retailer, Spencer's. As part of the deal, Wipro will provide infrastructure management services and IT infrastructure support for all the stores, distribution centers, regional and zonal offices. During this period, Wipro Infotech would also support future store roll outs.
   
TeleTech reports Q2 2008 revenue at $357 m
TeleTech reported revenue of $357 m for the quarter ended June 2008. The revenues increased by 8.4% over the quarter ended June 2007. The company posted a profit of $20.1 m, up from $8.7 m from the previous year. Revenue from TeleTech's offshore delivery centers comprises of 44% of the total revenue, which has grown 18% to $156 m. 
   
FirstSource reports net loss for the quarter-end Jun 2008
For the quarter ending Jun 2008, FirstSource reported a net loss of Rs. 500.5 m due to foreign exchange variation on its overseas convertible bonds. The BFSI segment contributed about 28% to the company's revenues in the quarter, whereas Healthcare and Telecom & Media segments contributed 39% and 31% respectively. The company's operating margin was 9.4% for the June quarter.
