Lehman Brothers' Indian BPO unit to cut 180 jobs
Lehman Brothers' BPO unit, Lehman Brothers Financial Services (India) plans to layoff more than 25% of its total 700 employees. Lehman Brothers reported a net loss of $2.8 b in Q2 2008 due to bad debt. A part of processing related to the bad debt was being done at the India center in Mumbai.  
   
Satyam Computer Services to restructure board composition in August 2008
Satyam Computer Services plans to restructure its board composition and may nominate individuals from acquired firms to the board. The board currently has nine members. The change is aimed to create stronger synergy between the verticals.  
    
WNS and Harvard Business Publishing offer leadership development program
WNS in association with Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) will offer a leadership development program titled 'The Leadership Series and The Management Series' for middle and senior management executives. The curriculum has been developed by both WNS and HBP while content is offered by HBP. The scope of the program includes change management, team leadership and global business development.
    
Syntel's revenues in Q2 ended June 2008 cross $100 m mark
Syntel's net income for Q2 ending June 2008 increased 30.7% yoy but declined 14.7% qoq to $17.4 m. Revenues increased 28.6% yoy to $103.4 m. Applications outsourcing contributed 64% to revenues while KPO accounted for 20%.The company expects 2008 revenues to range between $412 m to $422 m.  
    
Respondez starts telemarketing outsourcing services in the UK
Respondez has launched telemarketing outsourcing solutions in the UK. The outsourcing services covers customer service support offerings like general enquiry handling, returns management and authorization.
