IPVG Corp and Gemma Communications sign cooperation agreement
IPVG Corp signed a partnership contract with Gemma Communications LP, a Canada based call centre. IPVG will offer call centre outsourcing services to Gemma's customers in Canada and other regions. The two firms have signed a MoU as per which Gemma will look after promotions, marketing, quality assurance and infrastructure while IPVG will provide operations and infrastructure support via its BPO unit.  

Ranbaxy to focus on expanding Fortis Financial Services 
Ranbaxy promoters plan to invest $117m (Rs 5,000 m) in the next 18-24 months to organically expand their IT firm, Fortis Financial Services (FFS) in the domestic and global market. In addition, the promoters will also allocate funds to acquire IT and ITES companies. FFS has a 300-seat centre in Delhi, which is likely to expand to 1,000 seats by end 2008.
   
WNS to offer services to Aviva 
WNS has acquired stake in Aviva's offshore BPO center called Aviva Global Services (AGS). The company has won a $1 b, 8-year deal from Aviva. WNS will offer services to all the customers of AGS and back-office support for Aviva's units in Ireland, the UK and Canada. The contract also involves transfer of 580 jobs from one of AGS's clients called Hibernian initially for tenure of three years. WNS will offer support for Hibernian's India operations. 
   
National Australia Bank to transfer 400 jobs to India 
National Australia Bank plans to transfer 400 IT jobs to India by end 2008. The bank has identified Infosys and Oracle to develop its next-generation platform. 
   
Sutherland Global Services wins outsourcing contract from Jamba 
Sutherland Global Services has won an outsourcing contact from Jamba, a mobile entertainment company based in California. Sutherland will offer support for billing queries, usage, contract extensions and technical support to Jamba's customers. The company plans to set-up a unit in Chennai and create 10,000 jobs.
