TCS wins Indian passport applications processing contract 
TCS has won a six-year contract from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to process Indian passport applications. The contract is worth more than Rs 9,000 m (approx. $235 m). TCS will handle police verification and other procedures, while printing of passports will be done by MEA.  
   
Centrica signs $4.2 m outsourcing contract with Fujitsu  
Centrica has outsourced applications maintenance of its British Gas subsidiary to Fujitsu Services. As per the contract, valued at £2.1 m (approx. $4.2 m), Fujitsu will manage the legacy applications and offer support to British Gas's business and residential customers.  
    
Reliance BPO to set-up units in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai  
Reliance BPO will set-up a unit each in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai in June 2008. Each unit will have a headcount of 1,500. The company will use the franchise model to set-up the units. Reliance has also acquired land in Tirupati and will create 1,400 jobs at the unit.  
    
FirstSource and Bharti Airtel sign 3-year outsourcing contract  
FirstSource and Bharti Airtel have signed a 3-year outsourcing contract. As per the contract, FirstSource will offer voice and back-office services like customer accounting, VAS provisioning, collections, customer service from its units in Chennai and Mumbai. It will also set-up units in Vashi and Chennai for Airtel and is likely to recruit more than 1,000 employees initially.  
    
TCS wins $100 m contract from NXP Semiconductors  
TCS has won a $100 m 5-year contract from NXP Semiconductors. As per the contract, TCS will offer application management, development and support services for NXP's supply chain operations. R&D teams at TCS will also develop new applications for all product cycle stages of NXP.
