vCustomer to provide customer support services to McDonald's India 
vCustomer Corporation is partnership with McDonald's India (North & East) to provide centralized customer support service and order taking for its McDelivery services. With this engagement, all calls shall be routed to the centralized vCustomer contact center based in Delhi.  
   
Newsquest to outsource pre-press work to India  
Newsquest plans to outsource pre-press work to Express KCS in India. This move will cut more than 30 jobs in Sussex and Wiltshire. Newsquest publishes 17 dailies and approximately 300 weeklies. 
    
SPi to transfer more projects from US to Cebu  
SPi is rapidly expanding operations in Cebu. It intends to transfer medical transcription jobs from the US to the country. The company plans to triple manpower in Cebu and increase the company's total medical transcription job transfers to Cebu from the existing 40% to 60%. 
    
WNS to create a separate unit for platform based BPO services 
WNS Global Services will create a separate unit called 'business technology group' headed by the company CIO, Atul Davda. This marks the entry of the company into platform based BPO services. The objective is to offer tools that facilitate BPO by converting data to a standard format that can run on payroll and HR processes on platforms like SAP. 
    
PwC outsources payroll services to Logica  
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has signed an outsourcing contract with Logica. As per the contract Logica will offer payroll services to the 18,000 PwC employees and the ones on its pension plan. 
    
MediaNews group outsources customer care to APAC  
Newspaper, San Jose Mercury News owned by MediaNews group has outsourced customer care operations to Philippines based, APAC Customer Services. APAC will offer customer calls, subscriber retention, and delivery and billing inquiries to the newspaper and its sister publications, the Contra Costa Times and the Oakland Tribune. 
    
Tricom India acquires Godrej Global Solutions  
Tricom India has acquired Godrej Global Solutions for $4.8 m. The acquisition will be financed through internal accruals via a combination of cash and fully convertible debentures. The main team of GGSL will continue to operate in their respective positions.  
    
Genpact net income crosses $19 m in Q1/2008  
Genpact reported net income of $19.7 m on revenues of $233.4 m for Q1 2008. Revenues went up by 33% for the quarter, primarily driven by growth in business from global clientele as well as from GE. The company expects revenues for 2008 to grow by 25%-27% y-o-y.  
    
FirstSource to add 800 jobs in Northern Ireland  
FirstSource will add 800 new jobs in Northern Ireland. Almost 300 new jobs will be created in Londonderry in addition to the existing 350. The remaining 500 jobs will be added to the firm's European Centre of Excellence in the region. The company recently got a grant of $13.2 m from regional economic development group called Invest Northern Ireland.
