Genpact to open BPO in Meghalaya Genpact is set to sign a MoU with the government of Meghalaya for setting up centers in the state. The agreement is expected to be finalised in the next 15 days. As per reports TCS has signed an agreement with the Assam government to set up a BPO in the region. Hexaware eyes North America for acquisition Hexaware Technologies is looking to acquire a company in North America for $50 m. The deal will be finalised after July 2008 as the Hexaware management expects valuation to decline in the second half of 2008. The company intends to take headcount to 8,000 from the existing 7000 by 2008 end. 3i and Infosys BPO set up center in Bangalore 3i and Infosys BPO have collaborated to start a knowledge and resource center in Bangalore. The unit will initially have 20 employees. Infosys BPO will manage the unit and offer global research and accounts payable services to 3i. Sonata eyes acquisition opportunities Sonata Software intends to invest $30 m - $50 m for an overseas acquisition. It will be looking at insurance, manufacturing and CPG SMBs across US and Europe with a preference for Sweden. The company is also considering Indian firms. BancTec acquires DocuData Solutions BancTec has acquired Texas based BPO called DocuData Solutions that offers content management, imaging and media storage services. DocuData will function as a unit of BancTec and will continue to operate under the same name. ePLDT revenues increase 60% y/y in 2007 ePLDT revenues increased by 60% y/y to $245 m in 2007 due to its BPO operations. Ventus and Spi operate under ePLDT. Consolidated call center revenues increased by 24% to $80 m. Spi contributed $129 m to the total revenues.
