Integrated CRAMS Vendors Print E-mail

Pharmaceutical R&D generates huge amounts of data. Hence handling, storage, retrieval and analysis of these data for their use in new drug discovery and development have necessitated the use of bioinformatics in almost all reseach assignments.

Due to the sensitive nature of data involved, research companies outsourcing to India will increasingly prefer to outsource to a single integrated vendor. Outsourcing from multiple vendors will increase management time, entail mutiple vendor audits and other overheads, and involve a higher risk of misuse/leakage of sensitive data

To provide a one-stop shop for global pharma services, CRAMS vendors like Avestha Gengraine Technologies, GVK Biosciences, and Jubilant Biosys are offering bioinformatics, contract/clinical research and  manufacturing services to their clients.

Pure play bioinformatics companies like Ocimum Biosolutions already offer life sciences reseach services. Ocimum Biosolutions recently acquired US based Gene Logic’s genomics business to further strengthen its offerings in genomics based services. Other bioinformatics companies like Pune-based Vlife Sciences Technologies also offer bioinformatics and contract research services.
