Educational Publishers: Move Towards E- learning Print E-mail

Like other forms of publishing, educational publishers too have been wedded to books printed on paper. But now with digital media throwing up innumerable competitors introducing new online/multimedia learning methodologies, innovations in publishing content dissemination are fast becoming an imperative for most global publishers.

The Educational publishing market comprises primarily the K-12 segment, higher education, and professional education. Amongst these segments, the K-12 segment in particular offers a large opportunity for both existing publishing vendors and new entrants. E-learning across varied output formats like E-books, CDs, Web media, blended learning, and teaching aids have created new opportunities for creative content creation for offshore vendors. The global publishers, looking for innovation while trying to keep costs low, are now keener to offshore. Offshoring offers them the leverage to test new learning concepts, launch new products, at a lower cost – with the potential to enhance future revenue streams.
