Wipro wins infrastructure set up contract from Aircel Wipro Infotech was awarded a 9-year outsourcing contract by Aircel, a telecom company owned by Maxis Communications, Malaysia. The contract, is valued at $450-$600 million. Wipro will support IT infrastructure for Aircel in India. Standard Chartered, Credit Suisse and DBS Group to buy 33% stake in InterGlobe Standard Chartered, Credit Suisse and DBS Group will acquire 33% stake in InterGlobe Technology Quotient for $140 million. The private equity arm of the banks mentioned above has approved the deal. InterGlobe is valued at over $400 million. Tayana buys 60% stake in Axis IT&T, to make offer for additional 20% Tayana Software Solutions (TSSL) has bought 60% stake in Axis IT&T. The value of the deal was not disclosed. TSSL will make the mandatory open offer for additional 20% stock of Axis on 21 Feb 2008. The combined entity, with 400 people, will be managed by Jupiter Strategic Technologies and will offer complete value chain services for aerospace engineering. Icenet expects revenues of $51 million by 2010 Icenet has opened a new technical support outsource KPO unit in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It expects revenues of $51 million in the next three years. The new unit has a capacity of 50 seats and will offer consumer and enterprise test support to SMEs in Europe and US. Icenet plans to explore engineering design outsourcing services in the near future. Capita wins 10-year contract worth $390 million from Marsh Capita will provide its outsourced back office support systems to Marsh. The contract will be for a tenure of 10-years and worth $390 million. The deal pending for due diligence and final negotiations is likely to be finalised by the end of April 2008. Firstsource close to acquiring Barclays' US BPO Firstsource is close to acquiring Barclay's US BPO. The 300-seat facility offers credit collections, HR & IT and branch operations services to Barclays' branches. The deal size is estimated to be lower than $10 million. Barclays had earlier acquired the BPO from Juniper. WNS announces new delivery centre in Bucharest, Romania WNS has opened a delivery centre in Bucharest, Romania. The 150-seat facility will offer finance and accounting (F&A) and customer support services to WNS' clients with European operations.
