Wipro opens BPO center in Cebu, Philippines Wipro has opened a BPO 45,000-sft facility in Cebu, Philippines and plans to hire 900 employees for customer support services. The company will also consider additional centers in other cities in the Philippines. Cognizant to start operations in Hungary, Philippines Cognizant Technology Solutions is looking to begin operations in Hungary and Philippines. Looking to grow in the European market, the company is also reportedly looking for acquisition opportunities. The company is also eyeing the Japanese market and has recently tied up with linguistic services provider Nihongo Bashi for skills training to enable better servicing of Japanese customers. Innodata Isogen extends relationship with Swets Innodata Isogen has signed a contract extension agreement with Swets, a subscription services company servicing numerous global academic, government, corporate and medical firms. The former will provide data management and KPO services to Swets. Silverline acquires Omega Direct Response Silverline Technologies has acquired Omega Direct, an 850-strong provider of customer interaction and management services. Omega Direct designs a range of call center solutions including customer care and help desk in various languages. The company plans to open facilities in Gandhinagar and Chennai. Alcatel Lucent awards outsourcing contract to Innodata Isogen Innodata Isogen has signed a contract with Alcatel Lucent to provide support services for the latter's technical documentation materials for their customers. Innodata will also work with Alcatel-Lucent for the installation of a new CMS (content management system) environment. TeleTech renews contract with current client TeleTech Holdings has recently renewed a contract with an existing broadband communications client. The company will continue to provide multilingual technical support from various global locations for the product offerings of the client. LogicaCMG signs HR outsourcing deal with KPN KPN, a telecom services provider in the Netherlands, has signed an HR outsourcing contract worth $58.8 m with LogicaCMG. LogicaCMG will run the call center and HR information systems and will be responsible for personnel and payroll administration of 17,000 KPN employees. Related Items:
