Hexaware gets $7 million contract from German body Hexaware Technologies has won a $7 million contract from a German financial institution. Under the deal, Hexaware will develop a new core application for the client. Technopark and Shenyang sign deal Technopark and Shenyang Information Industry Bureau of China signed an agreement wherein Shenyang-based IT companies would study whether to locate themselves as wholly-owned foreign enterprises or as JVs with Indian firms. Technopark would uphold co-operation between Indian and Shenyang-based IT software companies. TCS eyes Germany Tata Consultancy Services intends making Germany a base for its expansion. The company aims at ranking among the top ten IT firms in Europe. IBM awarded $17.7 million deal by BSNL IBM won a $17.7 million from BSNL to provide IT infrastructure management. The project is for the operation of 2.8 million broadband, multi-play and high-speed internet services in 900 cities in India. TCS to add 4,000 business consultants by 2010 TCS will employ 4,000 consultants by 2010 as part of its plan to become one of top ten IT consulting firms in the world. The company aims to transition into a reliable business partner from an IT partner. HCL to provide IT infrastructure services to Hercules HCL will supply US-based Hercules with IT infrastructure management services. Under the multi -regional and multi-year deal, IT operations in the US have begun and soon the transition to added infrastructure support in Europe will also be completed. Convergys to double employee base by 2012 In less than five years, Convergys aims at increasing its present headcount of over 12,000 people two-fold. The company plans to move towards tier II cities and also to expand its non-voice work from 5% to 20-25%. Unisys wins Ciba Speciality Chemicals global outsourcing deal Unisys will provide Ciba Specialty Chemicals' 12,000 employees in the US, Europe and Asia with IT services. In Switzerland, Unisys together with Swisscom will give Ciba SAP solutions management and data center services. The first stage of the project is scheduled for completion in 2008. IBM awarded Nokia-Siemens IT outsourcing deal Under an IT outsourcing contract with Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN), IBM will research and expand NSN's multimedia services, VoIP services and mobile internet products.
