Thomas Cook and Accenture sign $400 mn outsourcing deal Thomas Cook has signed a $400 million outsourcing contract with Accenture to manage technology infrastructure, software applications, accounting, finance, and HR functions. A shared services center in the UK will handle the project along with its staff throughout the world. Aptara and Bowne in $29 mn contract extension Aptara and Bowne & Co are in a multi-year contract extension deal. Valued at a minimum $29 million, the deal will cater to a range of composition and data conversion services. Since November 2002, Aptara has been offering these services exclusively to Bowne. CDI and iMedia sign $19.8 mn animation outsourcing deal Compact Disc India has signed a deal worth $19.8 million with iMedia Ventures to make a 92-minute animated film called 3000 BC. The science fiction-cum-children's film is expected to take 21 months to complete. The company is setting up a studio at the Kinfra SEZ, Thiruvananthapuram with more than 300 animators. BPO majors contend to acquire SPS Leading BPO vendors including WNS, Genpact, Wipro, Infosys and Firstsource Solutions as well as private equity players are reportedly contending to acquire Scientific Publishing Services, a publishing BPO. Nuetel and BT sign operations, marketing and consultancy contract Baharain-based Nuetel Communications and UK-based BT have entered a multi-million dollar agreement. BT will provide services development, technical support & consultancy to Nuetel. This strategic relationship will also involve joint marketing and resale of BT's services. Spherion ranks second in Baker's Dozen list The RPO services division of Spherion Corporation has been named in the Baker's Dozen list of top RPO providers by HRO Today magazine. Spherion was chosen amongst thirteen RPO service providers, based on parameters like service quality, breadth of scope and size of deals. Injazat Data Systems signs MoA with Northrop Grumman on high technology programs Injazat Data Systems (a JV between Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala and Electronic Data Systems) and Northrop Grumman have signed a MoA, to collaborate on an array of high technology programs and ideas to develop the Emirate's economic strategy. With this MoA both sides hope to focus on high technology opportunities in the UAE and elsewhere. Twenty wins three-year contract from Tenpin Twenty PLC has won a three-year contract from Tenpin, a leading bowling operator in UK.
