Reliance considering new BPO in Tirupati
Reliance is considering setting up a BPO delivery center at Tirupati. The approx $37.7 m facility would accommodate 1,400 professionals. The company is increasing its BPO operations and intends increasing its staff to 30,000 in the next 2 years, from the current 7,800.  
    
MphasiS launches fifth facility in domestic BPO space
MphasiS and Idea together opened a new BPO facility in Indore with 750 customer service agents to provide services to Idea Cellular customers in Madhya Pradesh. This is MphasiS' fifth facility catering entirely to the domestic BPO. The company will be raising the capacity to 1,500 agents in 12 months.
    
TeleTech sets up new BPO center in Cape Town
TeleTech Holdings has set up a new BPO center in Cape Town to strengthen its presence in South Africa. The company is the first multinational firm to take advantage of the South African Department of Trade & Industry's investment incentive plan for the BPO industry. With a capacity of 2,500, the center will become operational by 2007-end.
    
HCL world's No. 1 in infra outsourcing
HCL Technologies now ranks as No. 1 infrastructure outsourcing vendor in the world, according to the Brown-Wilson Group for The Black Book of Outsourcing. It is the sole Indian company ranking among the top 10.
    
Kelly acquires iChoices in a deal of about $16.5 m
Kelly Group of South Africa has acquired iChoices. The stock and cash deal of up to $16.5 m will enhance Kelly Group's role in the BPO sector.  
    
ExlService mulling acquisitions in Eastern Europe
ExlService Holdings is considering acquisitions of companies in Eastern Europe with $10-25 m revenues. The firm with a revenue target of $160-170 m for 2007 wants to increase its hold on the domestic market in its finance business.
    
Headstrong Corp. has Indian expansion plans  
US-based Headstrong Corp. intends to make acquisitions or set up separate units in India for enhancing its back-office support, analytics and infrastructure management services.
    
Infinit-O renews two healthcare contracts
Health Maintenance Organization and Home Health Agency in the US have renewed their deals with Philippines-based Infinit-O for another year. Infinit-O offers the two firms medical coding and billing services and claims adjudication.
