HCL BPO eyes Eastern Europe

HCL Technologies BPO Services is exploring the possibility of setting up a delivery center in Eastern Europe. The facility will offer multi-lingual BPO services to the customers. The company currently employs 9,000 people in India and 2,000 in Northern Ireland.
 
ACES to explore tier-II cities

ABN Amro Central Enterprise Services (ACES) plans to increase its employee strength to 5,000 in India by June 2007. The captive center of ABN Amro Bank currently has three facilities in Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi and is looking at tier-II cities for further expansion.
 
Owens & Minor extends its contract with Perot

Perot Systems (NYSE:PER) has extended its existing seven-year contract with Owens & Minor for another five years. Perot provides technology support to the healthcare supply distributor.
 
Another entrant in the KPO space

Pyxis Systems that offers services and solutions in the financial sector plans to set up a KPO facility. The center will offer a range of services from deal entry to high-end analytics in the financial derivatives space.
   
Olympus Capital invests $100 million in Quatrro BPO Solutions

Asia-focused fund, Olympus Capital invests $100 million in Raman Roy's Quatrro BPO Solutions. Quatrro plans to have multiple BPOs with varied specialization such as equity research, risk management, shipping and finance and accounting.
   
Infosys BPO to offshore the offshored work!

Infosys BPO is working with a Manila-based Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) to offer call center services to its US clients. Currently PLDT has over 4,500 employees out of which 200 are working for Infosys.
    
Wipro among the top 10 global BPOs!

Wipro Technologies ranked seventh in Global Outsourcing 100 rankings for 2006 by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP). The company was also rated as a top BPO provider for 2006.
