Capgemini buys 51% in Indigo Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL), India's leading FMCG company is planning to sell 51 per cent in its BPO unit, Indigo to Capgemini. Indigo has 600 employees in its Bangalore and Chennai centers. The company offers financial and accounting services to Unilever companies across the globe. Infosys to focus on nearshore delivery center! Infosys Technologies (NasdaqGS:INFY) plans to double the capacity of its existing facility in Czech Republic. The company is adding a 350-seat facility, which will be operational by January 2007. The facility provides finance and accounting, sales order management, underwriting services and market research to its European customers. Aegis BPO on an aggressive growth path! The Essar group's Aegis BPO has set aggressive expansion plans in India and abroad. The company plans to increase its capacity from the existing 7,000 seats to 17,000 in the next two years. The existing centers in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Coimbatore, will see an increase in capacity while two new centers will be set up in Noida (600 seats) and Ahmedabad (455 seats). OfficeTiger aims 25% increase in manpower! OfficeTiger is planning to increase its manpower strength to 12,500 people from the existing 10,000 within the next two years. Further, the company is looking to expand its capacity in its Chennai facility, which employs over 3,500 people. OfficeTiger was acquired by RR Donnelley (NYSE:RRD) early this year for $250m and later merged with Astron BPO. Accenture opens its tenth facility in Gurgaon, India Accenture (NYSE:ACN) opens a new 1,100-seat facility in Gurgaon, India. The center will provide application and infrastructure outsourcing and systems integration services. The company already has nine delivery centers in India located in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune with a total of 19,000 employees as of May 2006. Wipro BPO gears up to fight attrition! Wipro Ltd (NYSE:WIT) has initiated a mass employee engagement program called "Josh" to fight attrition in its BPO business. This program will allow employees in its six BPO units located at Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune to connect with each other.
