ICICI OneSource expands to Argentina

Looking to expand geographically and establish a global delivery platform, ICICI OneSource has expanded to Argentina. The 400-seat facility in Buenos Aires is the company's fourth global delivery center outside India. The center will provide a range of transaction processing functions to a US-based telecom client.

TCS to expand in Kolkata

Looking to grow its BPO operations, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will now expand in Kolkata. At present the company has over 6,000 employees in Kolkata, and given the annual growth rate of 30 per cent, by 2010 TCS in Kolkata will have 12,000-13,000 strong workforce.   
 
Brazilian Insurance company signs Contract With IBM

Brazilian insurance company Tokio Marine Brasil Seguradora S.A. has signed an outsourcing contract worth $44-million with IBM (NYSE: IBM). The 10-year agreement involves integration of services, data centers and technological updates for the company's hardware environment.  
   
Dell to hire more in Gurgaon

Dell plans to add 2500 more employees at their BPO in Gurgaon, where the current strength is 800. The company already has contact centers in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mohali in India. The Gurgaon expansion is expected to be accomplised by end-2007.  
    
Two outsourcing deals for IBM

Health insurance major, Cigna and telecom major Vodafone have signed IT outsourcing deals with IBM. The 7-year deal with Cigna includes contact center applications, data networks, as well as enterprise content management software, and the deal with Vodafone involves handling maintenance services and application development. EDS is another vendor chosen by Vodafone for the outsourcing contract.
