HTMT in the LPO race
 
Hinduja group, UK's Centric and Indian law firm Fox Mandal have joined hands to start a legal process outsourcing firm. With an initial employee strength of over 1,000, the joint venture plans to offer end-to-end services in the legal outsourcing space. While Centric will hold 40% of the stake in the joint venture, HTMT Tech and Fox Mandal will hold the remaining 60%.  
    
Genpact, Vertex Data to merge?
 
Private equity firm Oak Hill Capital Partners, which has a significant stake in Genpact as well as Vertex is likely to merge the two firms. Genpact employs around 27,000 people across India, China, Philippines, Hungary, Romania, US and Mexico. Vertex has around 9,000 employees across Europe, US, Canada and India.  
    
Accenture to be a 35,000-strong company in India by 2007

Accenture plans to be a 35,000-strong entity in India from the current headcount of 27,000, by August 2007. The company employs over 140,000 people worldwide. Accenture India currently operates across six cities - Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. Accenture plans to retain focus on the consulting business and will leverage Indian talent for the same.  
    
HCL in an outsourcing deal with OMX

HCL Technologies has recently signed a deal with OMX, a Nordic and Baltic bourse owner, covering its regional banks and brokerages. HCL will provide maintenance support and development of systems for securities management.
    
Convergys sets up two new call centers

Convergys plans to set up new call centers in Kentucky and Texas. The Kentucky facility will employ 600 people and will be operational in the first quarter of 2007. The Texas center will recruit 550 people and will start operations in the second quarter of 2007. The two centers will provide general support as well as advanced technical helpdesk services.
   
CSC wins an ITO deal from Allianz Australia

Allianz Australia has signed an AUD 8 million (US$ 6.2 mn) IT services deal with CSC Australia. Under the three-year contract, the outsourcing provider will offer managed desktop services and will also implement a desktop service desk and standard operating environment for Allianz.
