Accentia looking out for US acquisitions Accentia is looking at building its BPO business very aggressively. The BPO located at Pennsylvania and London with an offshore presence in Trichy has recently tied up with Asscent Infoserve to use their 7,000 square feet facility in Bangalore. The company is now looking out for acquisitions in the US. iGate to increase manpower IT and BPO services company iGATE plans to increase its headcount for its testing services offering. The company is aiming to provide end-to-end testing solutions to enterprises and will grow its workforce to 600 from the current 300 by middle of 2008. Nasscom roots for extension of STPI scheme Nasscom is rooting for the extension of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) scheme for ten more years, beyond 2009. Nasscom says that the extension should be synchronic with the tax holiday given to export units in SEZs as this will help the companies to continue availing the tax benefits till the SEZ framework gets operational. Punj Lloyd to enter outsourcing space Global EPC services provider in infrastructure oil and gas verticals, Punj Lloyd has decided to enter the outsourcing space and has set up a new company Simon Carves India Limited. While the new company will cater to in-house requirements initially, domain specialization will help them provide offshore engineering services. Barclays outsources to JPMorgan Barclays Global Investors (BGI) has given a financial-services outsourcing contract, which involves managing the European investment operations to JPMorgan Worldwide Securities Services. Among other services, JPMorgan will provide derivatives servicing and valuation, portfolio valuation and fund accounting services to BGI. Bank of America and ExcellerateHRO sign deal ExcellerateHRO has signed a five-year deal with Bank of America to provide benefits-administration services for more than 10,000 associates of the bank in the U.K., Ireland and Canada.
