Astron gets ING Contract The Astron BPO, which was acquired by the Donnelley group, has won a seven-year document outsourcing contract from ING bank. The deal worth $465M includes a range of services like print, mail, scanning and fulfillment for the bank's 60M customers. Motif in Philippines Another BPO to head towards Philippines is Gujarat-based Motif, provider of transaction processing and customer support services. The expansion is due to client requirements and is based on the company's strategy to grow business by becoming a preferred vendor with current clients. New CEO of IBM Daksh: Pavan Vaish Pavan Vaish, the co-founder of Daksh-eservices that was acquired by IBM in 2004 has become the new CEO of IBM Daksh. An alumnus of Stanford, Harvard and IIT, Pavan was the COO of IBM-Daksh and has been key to company's growth. Dell's fourth contact center launched Dell has set up its fourth contact center in Gurgaon across 300,000 sq. ft. and is likely to employ about 1,000 people by the end of 2006. At this center, Dell is piloting innovative strategies of customer support that can be replicated across other Dell centers globally. With over 13,000 people across four centers in India, Dell is the largest captive in the country and plans to grow to 20,000 by 2008. Synygy to expand its strength in India Synygy Inc plans to increase its Indian headcount from 200 to 400 employees within the next two years. The Philadelphia-based sales performance management solutions provider plans to position its India as a R&D hub. Convergys gets Intercontinental contract Convergys Corporation has entered a 6-year HR BPO deal with Intercontinental Hotels Group to support their Asia-Pacific region.
