TCS to strengthen its operations in Latin America TCS plans to increase its employee strength in its Chile, Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil facilities. The company currently has 3,500 employees working from these facilities and is looking to increase the number to 6,000 over the next one and a half years' time. EXL Service posted revenues of $35.7 mn for Q3 07 EXL Service reported revenues of $35.7 million for the third quarter ended September 2006, an increase of 94% as against the same period for the previous year. The company's net income increased 272% to $4.1 million for the same period. Merril Corp sets up its captive unit in Chennai The US-based Merril Corporation that provides business communication and information management needs has set up its captive center in Chennai. The company plans to initially recruit 300 people and increase the strength by March 2007. Arjun Singh joins WNS as CEO, BFSI unit Arjun Singh has been appointed as the CEO of WNS' Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) business unit. Prior to this, Singh was a Regional Director with ABN Amro. He had also held senior positions at Genpact, Unilever India and ANZ Grindlays Bank. HSBC plans a second facility in Kolkata HSBC is exploring the option of setting up its second BPO facility in Kolkata. The first center in Kolkata currently has around 2,000 employees. According to Naina Lal Kidwai, General manager and country head (India), HSBC, the second center plans to house 2,000 employees. SBS won a two-year contract from Barclays Siemens Business Services (SBS) bagged a two-year BPO contract from Barclays. This is the extension of the first contract between the two companies. SBS handles the retail-banking back office operations of Barclays that includes account closures, transfer of funds and administrative processing.f Related Items: |
