Kenexa Acquires StraightSource
 
Kenexa (KNXA) announced the acquisition of Dallas - based StraightSource, a provider of recruitment process outsourcing for Fortune 500 companies. Financial terms of the deal were not declared. StraightSource expects second quarter revenue of $43.6 to $45.5 million consequent to the acquisition announcement.
    
Horizon Outsourcing Purchases Chesham Recruitment
 
Horizon Outsourcing has purchased Philippines-based Chesham Recruitment. Financial terms of the transaction were unavailable. After the acquisition, Denis Ryan, the owner of Chesham Recruitment, will act as the new Managing Director of Horizon Outsourcing. The acquisition of Chesham is a part of Horizon's global expansion strategy.  
    
Cognizant to expand operations
 
Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) is likely to recruit close to 30,000 employees in India by 2008, as part of its $200 million investment strategy over the next two years. The company currently has 43,000 global employees, including 33,000 in India. Cognizant will add about 30 lakh square feet of office space for the new recruits and is considering Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Calcutta and Pune, among other cities for the expansion.  
    
BPO Management Services (BPOMS) raises $14 million equity finance

BPO Management Services, a BPO services provider to mid-market companies, will raise $14 million equity finance from a private placement transaction, involving a limited number of institutional investors, through C.E. Unterberg, Towbin. The company intends to utilize the gross proceeds from the transaction to finance previously announced acquisitions of two BPO companies - DocuCom and HRMS. The funds will also be used to further growth plans and to meet working capital requirements of the company.
    
Accenture wins 5 yrs outsourcing contract from Enbridge Gas Distribution 

Accenture Business Services for Utilities (ABSU), an Accenture BPO unit, has been awarded a contract for at least five years by Enbridge Gas Distribution, Inc. (ENB). The financial terms of the deal were not declared. Accenture's unit will provide billing, billing enquiry, collections, and emergency & service call center management.
