Spanco Telesystems consolidates its BPO ventures
 
Spanco Telesystems and Solutions plans to merge all its BPO ventures under Spanco BPO Ventures, which will act as a holding company for all Spanco JVs in BPO business. Spanco's international call center, Respondez and its Middle East joint venture will also be controlled by Spanco BPO Ventures. With its termination of non-compete agreement with Intelenet, Spanco is now eyeing the domestic BPO market.  
    
ePLDT creates new business unit, iPlus
 
ePLDT has set up a new business unit, iPlus to target IT outsourcing market. iPlus will concentrate on "high-tech" outsourcing market. Ventus and SPi are the two other subsidiaries of ePLDT, that offer voice and non-voice services respectively.  
    
3i to offer end-to-end HR services
 
3i Infotech is contemplating acquisition of 26% stake in Taxmile.com, the Mumbai based online tax filing company. The company had earlier bought out 51% of HCCA Business Services, a HR and payroll management service provider. With these two stake purchases, 3i intends to become an end-to-end provider in the HR domain.  
    
Aviva to exercise the 'T' in its BOT contracts with WNS & EXL 

Aviva has postponed repossession of its BOT outsourcing contracts from WNS Global Services and EXLService Holdings by three months. The shift will now take place in April 2008 instead of January 2008, which was the earlier deadline to exercise transfer.  
    
EDS clinches IT services deal with Mexicana Airlines 

Mexicana Airlines hired EDS to provide Flight Planning solution that will help the airlines to optimize operational flight plans. Financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.  
    
Accenture and Microsoft in a seven-year BPO deal 

Accenture and Microsoft have entered into a seven-year BPO agreement worth $185 million. Under this deal, Accenture will facilitate Microsoft with finance and accounting procurement solutions.  
    
WatchGuard terminates contract with an Indian offshoring company 

Amidst repeat customer complaints and poor support and service, WatchGuard Technologies terminated a contract with an Indian offshoring company. Besides, the company will remove technical support staff in India due to significant attrition. The company is mulling over on getting the work back to the US or offshoring to the Philippines.
